Personally all 3 of my kids are on summer break. All 3 swim on teams, 2 of them swim on 2 teams. Effectively that means that for 8 weeks I lose all but 2 days to get on the mat. I’ve found that if I’m on the mat 1 day a week, I’m forgetting what I learn. 2 days on the mat and I can barely stay Aikido fit. 3 days on the mat and I’m in harmony. 4 day son the mat for 2 or 3 weeks and I find my groove. That doesn’t include getting sick (which I did) or getting aggravating an old sports injury (which I also did). The point in all of this is this: the circumstances don’t really matter – just getting back on the mat does. Navigating your individual life and challenges is the art. So… practice the art of living to get back to the practice the art of Aikido.
